Take a break...a Coffee Break
Remember that classic scene in the movie Apollo 13 when the carbon dioxide filters were failing? It went like this...

The Engineer: "OK people listen up. The people upstairs handed us this one and we've got to come through.
We have to find a way to make this (holds up the square filter) fit into the hole for this (holds up the round filter)
using nothing but that (points to the equipment available on the Apollo 13 space craft."
Other Voices: "Let's get it organized." "Let's build a filter." "Better get some coffee going, too."
In about 50 words the engineer not only describes a problem solving process, but also recognizes the importance of coffee!
Too often when faced with a situation our first thoughts are to rush into action. We don't see contemplation as action. Sometimes we need to take a break, to get away, to think about other things. Maybe what we should say is, "Don't just do something, sit there!"
Sometimes we need to take a break, to get away, to think about other things. So let's start with the recipe for a great cup of coffee...
I like using a French Press because it slows me down. Here's how it works using a 32 oz. press...
1. Fill a kettle with cold water and bring the water to a boil.
2. Grind the coffee beans* and add 4-6 scoops of your favorite coffee to the french press.
Experiment to find your preferred strength.
3. Pour the boiling water into the press and put the plunger in the top but don't use it yet.
This just retains the heat.
4. Let the coffee steep for a few minutes
5. Press down on the plunger slowly until it reaches the bottom
6. Finally, pour the coffee into your favorite mug and enjoy the moment with someone special.
*If you don't like coffee, try tea. Read "The Book of Tea" by Kakuzo Okakura...it's a classic!
